BasiGo is an early-stage e-mobility start-up looking to revolutionise the public transportation sector by providing bus owners with a cost-effective electric alternative to diesel. We’re looking for an Accounts Intern to join our team. The Accounts Intern will report directly to the Finance Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

I. Daily Accounting Support:

  • Assist in processing & posting various accounting transactions, including journal entries, bank deposits, payments and reimbursements
  • Maintain and update accounting records, files and documentation.
  • Support the accounts team in ad-hoc administrative tasks

II. Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Support in timely and accurate booking of vendor invoices
  • Support payment processing through the preparation of the payment file
  • Assist with collecting and filing new-hire documentation.
  • Support the receivables team in daily customer billing and deposit confirmation

III. Month-End Reporting:

  • Assist in regular and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Support the team in timely month-end reporting by assisting with other account reconciliations and schedules.

Education:

  • A recent graduate in Finance, Accounting or other business-related fields

Experience:

  • Internship or volunteer experience in an accounting or finance role

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong communication, time management and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • A strong attention to detail and the ability to notice discrepancies in data
  • A proactive approach to work, the ability to handle multiple tasks, and maintaining a high-quality standard when working under time pressure.
  • Excited to learn & not scared of asking questions

Nice to have

  • Experience with accounting software
  • Should have completed or be currently pursuing an Accounting certification, i.e CPA
