The Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC)

The Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) is a public media training institution under the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy. Founded in 1961, it is Kenya’s oldest middle-level media training college, established originally to train technical staff for the Kenya Broadcasting Service.

KIMC’s core mandate is to train professionals in mass media – both print and electronic – while also conducting research, monitoring media trends, and partnering with media houses

The Institute wishes to recruit casual workers for a period of not more than three (3) months for the following positions:

  • Hospitality (Cooks, Housekeepers, Cleaners and Gardeners)
  • Maintenance (Artisans i.e. Carpenter, Electrician, Welder and Plumber)
  • Casual Secretaries
  • Accounts/Finance Assistant
  • Supply Chain Management Assistant.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ENGAGEMENT
I. Cooks  –  7

  • Certificate or Diploma in Food and Beverage Production
  • KCSE Certificate minimum D+ (Plus)
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificates

II. Gardeners  –  2

  • KCSE Certificate minimum D Plain

III. Housekeepers  –  2

  • KCSE Certificate minimum D+(Plus)
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificates
  • Certificate Management in Housekeeping/Hospitality

IV. Cleaners  –  2

  • KCSE D+ (Plus) Minimum
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificates
  • Certificate in Housekeeping/Hospitality Management will be an added advantage

V. Carpentry  –  1

  • Government Trade Test Certificate Grade IIl in Carpentry or Certificate/ Diploma in Carpentry.
  • KCSE minimum D- (minus)

VI. Welder  –  1

  • Government Trade Test Certificate Grade III in Welding or Certificate/Diploma in welding.
  • KCSE minimum D- (minus)

VII. Electrician  –  1

  • Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • KCSE minimum D- (minus)

VIII. Plumber  –  1

  • KCSE minimum D- (minus)
  • Government Trade Test Certificate Grade IIl in (Plumbing) Certificate/Diploma in Plumbing

IX. Secretaries

  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies or Equivalent
  • KCSE Certificate minimum C- (minus)

X. Finance

  • KCSE minimum D+ (Plus) Certificate
  • Diploma in Financial/Accounting CPA Management or Part II

XI. Procurement

  • Diploma in Procurement & Logistics or Supply Chain Management
  •  KCSE minimum D+ (Plus) Certificate

TOTAL  Number Needed: 22
