Dream Achievers Youth Organization (DAYO)

Dream Achievers Youth Organization (DAYO) is a Youth Led Public Benefit Organization and Registered under the Former (NGO’s co-ordination board) with a Registration Number: OP.218/051/21-479/12560 based in Mombasa Kenya. DAYO’s key interventions have been capacity strengthening for young people on key thematic concerns, community engagement and empowerment, health financing, media engagement, livelihoods and entrepreneurship incubation and policy advocacy for youth programming. DAYO also works with socially excluded groups including persons with disabilities, sexual and gender minorities and young people.

Call for Baseline Enumerators

Job Title: Baseline Enumerators
Engagement Type: Short-Term
Location: Ziwa la Ng’ombe, Bangladeshi, Mkomani Ward, Chaani Ward, Bamburi Ward, Junda Ward in Mombasa County.
Duration: 5 Working Days
Reporting To: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Deadline: 16/01/2026

Job Summary & Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to collect accurate, reliable, and high-quality baseline data from targeted communities to establish benchmarks against which project progress and outcomes will be measured over time.

Key Responsibilities

The Baseline Enumerators will be responsible for:

I. Data Collection:
Conduct household surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), and key informant interviews (KIIs)
using standardized tools.
II. Data Quality & Accuracy:
Ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy of all responses; verify entries before submission.
III. Digital Data Capture:
Collect and upload data daily using mobile data collection platforms such as KoboCollect, ODK, or Survey CTO.
IV. Ethical Conduct:
Obtain informed consent from respondents, ensure confidentiality, and adhere to ethical research and safeguarding standards.
V. Daily Reporting:
Participate in daily debriefings with supervisors to share progress, challenges, and field observations.

Required Qualifications & Experience
I. Education:

  • Minimum of a Diploma or bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Statistics, Community Development, Public Health, or a related field.

II. Experience:

  • At least two (2) years of demonstrated experience in household surveys, baseline studies, or similar qualitative and quantitative research.

III. Language Skills:

  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili; knowledge of local dialects spoken in Mombasa County is an added advantage.

IV. Technical Skills:
Proven proficiency in electronic data collection tools and basic data handling using Microsoft Excel or similar applications.

Supervision
The Assignments will be supervised by DAYO’s Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and the Project Coordinator. Enumerators will receive orientation/Training and tools prior to deployment.
